While his Twins teammates rested on Monday in preparation of their ALDS with the Yankees, Justin Morneau, along with Twins general manager Bill Smith, announced that the first baseman would not be returning for the postseason.

The Twins won't know if Jon Rauch will be available for the first round playoff roster until he throws a bullpen session in a few days, but the good news for the Twins is that Rauch's left knee has been feeling much better.

Justin Morneau was back out on the field, taking ground balls and getting in some swings Saturday morning. But manager Ron Gardenhire confirmed what Morneau had indicated on Thursday, the first baseman will not be included on the roster for the American League Division Series.
